Figma plugin
Give any layer one of seven colors — what needs review, what's waiting on copy, what's already signed off. Then one click selects every layer of that color, wherever it sits in the file.
Free to use. The extras are only $19, paid once. No subscriptions, no renewal.
Interactive demo
Select a layer or two, then pick a color.
Playing — click anything to take overClick a count to select every layer of that color at once.
Colors live in layer names, so they reach your exported filenames.
This is a demo — nothing here touches a Figma file. It behaves the way the plugin does, though: click rows to select them, pick a color, then click the blue count and watch all three come back at once.
Figma has no layer-color property, and a plugin can't change how the layers panel is drawn. So the colour goes where Figma already shows you text: the front of the layer name.
The other half
$19 versionBuild a name out of fields you define, then apply it across a selection. One value typed once for everything, another typed per layer, and whatever stays constant baked in.
Nothing is written until you press Apply, and one Apply is one undo.
This is the panel itself, at the 340px Figma gives a plugin window — both steps, working.
A demo. Press Next to fill the pattern in, type a campaign once and watch every row change, then Apply to see the rename land. Nothing here touches a Figma file.
Every row is previewed before a single layer is touched, one apply is one undo, and a color already on a layer survives the rename.
The free plugin is a whole tool, not a trial. Paying adds the parts that turn a color into a system.
Two axes at once: shape for what a layer is, color for where it stands. 🔶 component, 🔴 blocked — read both in one glance down the layers panel.
Marked Soon means designed and specified, not yet built. Nothing here is charged for until it exists.
No subscription, no license check, and nothing is ever taken back out of your files. Colors you have already applied are plain text in a layer name — they keep working whether or not Sift is installed.
Figma plugins install from Community — nothing to download, nothing to unzip. That button turns on the day Sift is published.
The preview is the real plugin, free while it's in testing — a small zip you load into Figma desktop yourself.
The plugin arrives as a small zip. You need the Figma desktop app — the browser version can't load a plugin that hasn't been published.
manifest.json from the unzipped folder. Please test on a copy of any file you care about. Sift renames layers, and that's exactly what you're being asked to check.
A newer build? Remove Sift from Plugins → Development first, then import the new manifest.

A layer that renamed wrong, a color that wouldn't stick, a step above that made no sense — all of it is useful. This opens your mail app with the subject already filled in.
